Arya Permana, an Indonesian teenager, once weighed 191 kg (421 lbs). He was so large that he had to shower outdoors in a pool built especially for him. Although he was called “the fattest boy in the world,” he proves that effort and goal setting always pay off. Let’s find out more about what happened to Arya.

The boy was called “the fattest boy in the world.”

Arya Permana is 15 years old and used to eat rice, fish, meat, vegetable soup, and a traditional soy burger for each of his five daily meals. On average, there was enough food for two adults. The boy couldn’t walk to school because he would get winded quickly. For a long time, Arya wore only a sarong because his parents couldn’t find clothes that fit him anymore.

Arya Permana went from being a 191 kg boy to a much slimmer young man. This Indonesian student has lost a lot of weight and now weighs only 83 kg. Furthermore, he has dedicated himself to motivating others to lead healthier lives. His trainer, Ade Rai, taught him about the importance of physical activity and good nutrition.

His trainer commented that Arya weighed 85 kg when they first met, but his appetite grew rapidly. Now, he is losing weight without getting discouraged. This is a rare quality, especially among adults. He has become an example of hope, and now people say things like:

If Arya can lose weight, why can’t I?

The young man follows a strict training routine, eats well, and receives medical care. Arya’s father, Ade Somantri, stated that his son’s weight loss is due to medical care, rigorous exercise, and diet. Arya was so weak that he could only stand for a few minutes at a time. After major surgery to reduce his food intake, he can now play soccer and other sports with his friends and walk to school. We are so happy for him!
