At birth, this little girl weighed only one kilo, which is why she was nicknamed “Thumbelina.”
When she came into the world, doctors were certain she wouldn’t survive a single day 😢. She weighed just one kilo, and for this reason, they affectionately called her Thumbelina 😱.
Despite the doctors’ discouraging predictions, the little girl survived 😍. Today, she is almost 17 years old 😊. Although people often react with amazement—and sometimes derision—to her unusual appearance, she has never let it take away her happiness 😵. Her optimism and love for life have only grown. Kenadie was born with an extremely rare form of dwarfism, diagnosed in only a handful of cases worldwide—fewer than a hundred are known.
At birth, she weighed just under a kilo. Her condition affects her entire body: poorly developed lungs, a high risk of developmental delays, and an extremely short life expectancy, sometimes only a few hours…

Her parents, aware of the gravity of the situation, made a decision as painful as it was important: to baptize Kenadie and take her home, so she could live out her final moments surrounded by the love of her family, not on life support in the hospital.
But fate had other plans.
Fourteen years have passed. Before us is no longer a fragile newborn, but a confident, energetic teenager who has proven that the impossible can become possible.

She leads a full life, rejoices every day, studies, socializes, and illuminates everything around her.
Kenadie is different from others, but that hasn’t stopped her from being happy. The doctors were wrong—and perhaps it’s one of those rare mistakes worth thanking fate for.
