Natalia Sakado was born and raised in St. Petersburg. Since childhood, she showed an interest in languages, and after graduating from school, she entered the pedagogical institute, where she began teaching English while still a student.
Her life went on as usual until in 2008 she met students from Ghana. At that time, Natalia knew little about the distant country in West Africa, but this acquaintance changed her fate.
Among the students was Frank, a serious and straightforward young man. For six months, they simply saw each other in the company of mutual friends, without even communicating.

On May 29, 2011, Natalia and Frank signed the registry office in St. Petersburg, and a month later they got married in a Lutheran church. Frank graduated from the institute, and soon after that they decided to go to Ghana to start a new life.

When Natalia became pregnant, she encountered an unexpected side of intercultural marriage. One day, she received a frightening message from a stranger on one of the social networks.
He accused her of betraying her homeland, wrote that she “gave herself to a lizard, and now she will give birth to a child with green blood.” These words scared Natalia so much that she could not come to her senses for a long time.
When their first child was born, Natalia was afraid to go for walks with him. Every time she went outside, she looked around, fearing threats.
Only after moving to Ghana did she finally feel safe. Here she was received warmly, and her fears gradually dissipated.
