The young man took the loss of a relative hard and began to cope with the stress by eating. The unhealthy habit almost led to a tragedy: his weight reached a critical point and his heart failed, and the rescuers were even going to tear down the wall of the house to get him out of his room. But this made him rethink his life.
Andrew Goldblatt was a normal teenager without any problems, but everything changed when he turned 15. his father, who was the most important person on earth to the boy, died suddenly.
The boy could not cope with the blow and found his solace in food. At first, he would go to the refrigerator when he was very sad, but then this desire grew, and Andrew’s whole life was connected with food.
“I didn’t want to do anything, I didn’t want to leave my room. I took out my pain through food… In four years I gained 140 kg. I didn’t live for food, I lived for food. I lived on snacks, dinners, I couldn’t sleep without eating.”
Andrew resorted to diets, and each time he satisfied himself by losing a few kilograms. When the scales showed that he had lost a little weight, the boy thought that was enough and gave himself a day off from the regime. Then one day, then another, and everything was back to normal.
But soon life gave him another slap, after which he finally decided to put an end to his destructive addiction. Andrew has had health problems since childhood, which worsened with weight gain. The young man had a stroke.
At that moment, he weighed 250 kg, and transporting him to the hospital became a real problem. The rescuers even thought about tearing down the wall of the house just to get him out. But with the efforts of a whole team, we managed to bring him down the stairs.
When he came to, Andrew decided that enough was enough. The threat of losing his own life sobered him. The boy promised himself that he should do everything to make his father proud of him. He decided to start with small steps. to walk around his neighborhood (two kilometers), which he had not been able to do for years. After a series of efforts, he succeeded. The next step was the gym.
“As soon as I entered the gym near my house, I fell in love. I realized that one day I had to get out there and change for the better.”
Thanks to daily training, Andrew lost 120 kg in a few years, and old acquaintances no longer recognized him.
“You are the only one who can change your life, you cannot rely on others to come and do everything for you. If you want to lose weight, start now. Don’t wait like me”
